Fire Sprinkler Designer
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $70,000-$100,000 DOE (Based on Experience & NICET Certification Level)
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Fire Sprinkler Designer to support the design and coordination of fire protection systems for commercial, industrial, warehouse, multifamily, and mixed-use projects throughout Southern California. This role is responsible for system layouts, hydraulic calculations, BIM coordination, fabrication documentation, and cross-functional project collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design fire sprinkler systems in compliance with NFPA and local code requirements.
- Create layouts using SprinkCAD and related design software.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and pipe sizing.
- Conduct field surveys and site verification when required.
- Prepare fabrication drawings, material listings, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal teams.
- Support BIM coordination and Revit modeling when applicable.
- Review project plans and specifications for constructability.
- Maintain accurate project records and drawing revisions.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience designing fire sprinkler systems.
- Proficiency with SprinkCAD required.
- Experience performing hydraulic calculations.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- NICET certification preferred.
- Experience with HASS and Revit highly desirable.
- Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards preferred.
